v1.0.0

Welcome back!

At NuxtLabs, we've been working on lots of repositories with lots of different people for years. GitHub was never enough for us, the constant flow of issues and notifications always felt overwhelming, so we decided to create a new way to work. Volta is born from the spirit of open-source and makes it easier than ever.

Volta has always been an internal tool, and today we want to share it with everyone. Since the beginning of Nuxt 3, the NuxtLabs team has been mobilized to support the massive effort of the framework team behind this release and everything that goes with it.

Volta has been live for two years now and helped the team to work collaboratively and to ensure sustainable development processes on our public and private repositories. Unfortunately, the project never went beyond the private beta phase. Nevertheless, these two years in private beta have been a great experience for us. It gave us the opportunity to accomplish exactly what we wanted from this tool.

As the framework is in its final stretch, we decided to take the time to rethink Volta and to rewrite the entire application in Nuxt 3. This is a huge opportunity for us to test our framework in a real use-case and to make Volta a real showcase of what Nuxt can achieve.

What's new?

We're proud to announce the first major release of Volta with a brand new logo, better performance and most importantly, a new interface that focuses on what matters the most:

๐Ÿ“ญ Inbox

The inbox is the heart of Volta. It gives you a direct preview to manage your issues in one place. With granular control over your repositories, it's super easy to keep track of what's important to you.

๐Ÿ”– Board

Navigate through your repositories and see your issues as a real-time and automated kanban board. You can easily see the progress of your issues and see who's working on them.

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Desktop application

A new desktop application that auto-updates itself with native notifications. Try it out!

Only available for MacOS for now, but with Windows and Linux coming soon.

Volta is not meant to be a GitHub replacement, but a tool to enhance your workflow.

We hope you'll enjoy Volta as much as we do. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact us at contact@volta.net or on Twitter.
